Course content
1. Interdisciplinarity in social work and multidisciplinary teams of helping professions - the consequence and part of postmodernism 2. Interdisciplinary teams and social work - definition, participating professions, goals of team activities and their fulfillment 3. Ethical nature of management, cooperation and decision making 4. Field goals of social work 5. Identity of social work and social worker 6. Case management - method of social work and method of social work management 7. Social worker as the leader of a team of social workers 8. Social worker as a leader of a multidisciplinary team 9. Social worker as a manager in helping organizations and social services provider 10. Management of above-standard quality of social services 11. Leadership styles of co-workers - entrepreneur, coach, visionary, agent of change 12. Conflict management 13. Supervision in the organization 14. Evaluation of co-workers and job interviews

Learning outcomes
The course focuses on the ethical nature of practical cooperation of social workers with workers in social services and other helping professions (psychologists, doctors, therapists, nursing staff, pastoral professions), and the ethical nature of decision-making of social workers as managers who manage the provision of social work services, multidisciplinary teams made up of helping professions, social service organizations and other helping organizations. The aim of the course is to define the position of social worker in an interdisciplinary team (a) as its member and (b) as its leader. Therefore, the attention is also paid to the field goals of social work and the identity of social worker. The course also deals with different styles of leadership of co-workers, conflict management and co-worker evaluation. Special attention will also be paid to supervision in an organization and the management of above-standard quality of social services.
Students will acquire or consolidate the following professional knowledge and skills within the course: Knowledge: - anthropological bases of moral responsibility, responsibility, conflict situations and their solutions; - psychological bases of moral responsibility, responsibility, conflict situations and their solution; - ethical pre-understanding of moral responsibility, accountability, conflict situations and their solution; Skills: - students are able to identify and distinguish their own moral responsibility; - students are able to identify and distinguish the degree of ethical responsibility in relation to other actors in the helping process - in particular co-workers, helping organizations and society; -students are able to identify and solve conflicts, problems and ethical dilemmas related to the cooperation of helping professions in an organization, and to the management of the helping process.

Assessment methods and criteria

Project: the working group will develop a project for an "ideal organisation". The working group will then present and defend the project at the exercise on a specified date. Assignment: - The working group will be formed randomly, contact will be through the university outlook unless the entire group agrees to another method of communication. That is, even a non-cooperating student will be involved in the group's outlook communication at all times. - The target group that the organization is working with will be assigned to the working group. - The project will include the following: (a) Definition of the accredited social service(s) provided by the organization and its context (location, etc.). b) Brief justification of the social service(s) for accreditation in relation to the context c) Organisational structure d) A basic fundraising plan that will focus on raising additional funds beyond those provided by the region for the social service(s) e) The organisation's strategic plan, i.e. a plan for the development of the organisation over the next 5-10 years f) Brief job descriptions for each position listed in the organizational structure based on the accredited social service(s), fundraising plan and strategic plan g) The organization's Code of Ethics, which will provide guidelines for working with clients, resolving conflicts within the organization, with clients, and to regulate relationships with donors and providing feedback within the organization. Written examination: The knowledge presented in lectures will be tested by means of a written test. The final grade includes the evaluation of the test and the project. The content presented in lectures will be tested through an online test with closed questions (4 possible answers / 1 correct). Minimum score equals 8 correct answers. The final grade for the exam includes the evaluation of the paper and seminar essay, too. Regular and corrective terms of examinations and their organization follow the Study and Examination Regulations of the USB and the related Provisions of the Dean of the Faculty of TF USB (the related documents are available on TF website, Section of Study and Public Noticeboard) The requirements are described in detail in the Moodle systém.
