Course content

Learning outcomes
Students will receive information on the phenomenon of new religious movements as viewed by the study of religion, mainly from the socio-scientific perspective. They will be introduced the theories of new religious movements and also examples of such in today's world. The aim is that the students acquire the skill of viewing these sometimes controversial social phenomena from the scientific perspective.
The students have and can use the scientific knowledge regarding new religious movements. They can apply specific scientific concepts and critically deal with the existing sources on the topic.
