Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to arouse students' interest in sociology, motivate them to study modern societies and develop their "sociological imagination". The course will provide a broad overview of theoretical perspectives and concepts with a focus on everyday life. It will help students understand the role of culture, values, religion, family, and social inequalities in the contemporary world.

Assessment methods and criteria

Student performance assessment, Analysis of the qualification work, Self-reflection, Interim evaluation
- Assignments in the form of study journals based on the book The Book of Sociology. Their submission is mandatory and must be turned in on time. Each study journal will be graded. - Attendance at the mid-term exam and final exam during the last class is required. - 75% attendance at lectures and active participation in discussions.
