Course content
1. Basic characteristics of social policy - the notion of social policy, the broad and narrow concept of social policy - Principles and functions of social policy - social policy instruments - subjects and objects of social policy - the welfare state? his conception, typology, and issues of his existence - new social risks, social exclusion 2. Employment policy - the definition of the unemployed, the labor market and its segmentation - passive employment policy - active employment policy - Typology of behavior of long-term unemployed, impacts of unemployment on individuals 3. Educational policy - definition of educational policy, function of educational policy - the role of the state in educational policy - levels of education system, actors of educational policy - educational system in the Czech Republic - Family influence on children's educational ambitions 4. Family policy - definition of family policy, typology of family policy, family policy financing - maternity and parenthood in the context of social policy - family policy content - implementation of family policy in the Czech Republic 5. Health policy - the concept of health and quality of life, health and illness in the context of social policy - definition of health policy, health care systems, health policy actors - health insurance, its concept, situation in the Czech Republic - sickness insurance 6. Housing policy - concept of housing policy, typology of housing policy - housing policy in the Czech Republic, housing policy development

Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to acquaint students with current areas of social policy in the Czech Republic. It concerns the areas of social security, family policy, housing policy, employment policy and health policy
The student can explain the essence of the individual policies included in the concept of active social policy. He is able to derive and compare the situation in the Czech Republic from general theoretical bases, he is able to make critical reflections,
The subject is taught in context with the knowledge gained in subject related to Social Work Methods, Law for Social Work and Sociology.

Oral examination
