Course content
1. Introduction to the field. 2. Theoretical concepts and history. 3. Group types and purposes. 4. Importance of group for the individual. 5. Group organization. 6. Group development phases. 7. Personality and role of group leader. 8. Techniques and forms of group social work, communication in groups. 9. Self-help and assistance groups. 10. Terrain social work.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Monitoring, Demonstration, Activating (simulations, games, drama), Individual preparation for exam
Learning outcomes
The content of the course are the theoretical concepts, models and periods of work with groups, group organization, ways of leading groups, forms and techniques of group social work, including practicing practical skills. The course includes introduction to terrain social work and prevention. The seminar also involves processing the students work experience. The students will know the main theories and methods of social work with groups and be able to appropriately apply forms of working with groups.

Prerequisites
To complete the course the student must have completed the courses Theoretical Foundations of Social Work and Case Social Work.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance assessment, Test

Active participation in seminars, attendance at least 75%. Students will prepare a paper and participate in leading the group during exercises.
