Course content
Obsah: 1. The relevance of philosophy and ethics for social work 2. Wellbeing and meaning of life 3. Truth and good 4. Good and love 5. Freedom, actions and responsibility 6. The anthropological conditions of ethics 7. Promise, guilt, forgiveness and gratitude 8. The question of the justification of charity and the importance of social structures with regard to solving social problems 9. Human rights and their importance for social work. Social ethics as a framework of social policy 10. Reflections on the nature, relationship and differences of faith and religion - consequences for ethical practice in social work 11. Monotheism and humanism (context and ethical consequences) 12. Trinity faith in God - inspiration for practice 13. The person of Jesus Christ - inspiration for practice (teachings, deeds)

Learning outcomes
The aim is to introduce into the philosophical and theological basis of application of ethics in social work, i. e. to make the students familiar with basic philosophical and ethical approaches and with the basis of Christianity as with the essential conditions for an erudite and complex understanding of the meaning of ethical questions in the social work practise.
Ability to analyze and evaluate the ethical dimension of social work in the light of major ethical theories and other relevant starting points.
Prerequisites
The course assumes that you have already taken some course in philosophical ethics.
