  • Class attendance - 18 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 48 hours per semester
  • Preparation for classes - 18 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 56 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 28 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The objective of the course is to assimilate basic backgrounds, supporting mathematical-statistical apparatus, methods and practical skills of basic demographical computation in Excel or with the aid of free available SW. Theories and practical skills can then be used in regionally oriented final works.
Students understand the most frequently used demography indices, are able to search for them in accessible data sources and interpret them. They can also assess a current demography situation of a chosen population in the frame of demographic synthesis.
Prerequisites
Mathematics, Theory of probability and statistics.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination, Student performance assessment, Combined exam, Test, Seminar work

Credit: processing of credits exercises in the Moodle e-learning system (at least 60% of the course assignments given in the course - correctly and in the required quality - it is necessary to submit the solution for all assigned tasks) Exam: exam written and oral, minimum for successful completion of written test (test): 60% of the correct answers.
