Course content
Lectures: Running an agrotouristic farm: 1 - introduction to the course, assignments; basic terminology; 2 - agrotouristic offer and its regulation/legislation; 3 - business plan; 4 - human resources management in agrotourism; 5 - marketing of agroturistic offer; 6 - yield management; 7 - accommodation, beverage and other activities and their organization; 8 - operational management; 9 - special services (event planning, animation, seasonal offers). Quality management: 10 - classification, certification; 11 - networking, HACCP, normalization; Integration of offers in destination management and marketing; 12 - destination management; 13 - 14 state and community support, projecting. Seminars: 1 - guest typology case studies; 2 - seminar work assignment; 3 - testing and training of creative skills; 4 - business plan - case studies; 5 - calculation of services in chosen farms; 6 - special support programmes of agrotourism services; 7 - price calculation; 8 - communication and presentation skills - theoretical preparation; 9 - excursion in chosen farm; 10 - 14 presentation and evaluation of seminar works.

Learning outcomes
The main aim of the subject is to introduce agrotourism as a form of rural tourism and to show its importance for multifunctional agriculture and rural development of the regions. Forms of agrotourism and supporting organizations in the Czech Republic and in the EU. Green tourism, rural tourism and legislation for running such a business, arts of development support of agrotourism in the Czech Republic, ECEAT as a supporting organization in the Czech Republic and in Europe, marketing measures used in agrotourism, product policy. Practical part is connected with excursions in selected firms, cooperation with experts from the Ministry of Agriculture and from the Ministry of Regional Development.
Students understand the basic principles of entrepreneurship in agrotourism, they are able to create business plan, invent a suitable marketing-mix and complete event projects and calculations of service offer.

Oral examination, Seminar work

Credit Requirements: Successful presentation of seminar work (themes: business plan, project for obtaining a grant). Credits will be awarded not earlier than 14 days before the end of the semester in accordance with the measure of Dean No. 124/2017 Article 15. Examination Requirements: Final examination - written test (more than 50 % correct answers) and oral examination. The examinations will be written 3 weeks before the beginning of the examination period in accordance with the measure of Dean No. 124/2017 Article 15.
