Course content |
Lecture Topics: 1. Basics of project management. 2. Project life cycle. 3. Project preparation. 4. Project budget. 5. Regional policy and its impact on project preparation and management. 6. Legislative bases of regional programming. 7. Resources for project financing. 8. System of program documents of regional policy. 9. Principles of programming and designing. 10. Program documents preparation process. 11. Institutional support of regional policy. 12. Methodological approach to preparation and financial management of projects. 13. Monitoring and evaluation of projects. 14. Project management. Exercises: 1. Preparation of project plan - first seminary work; 2. Schemes related to the program and projects. Range of interest in projects (regional, sectoral, corporate, microregion, subject matter, etc.); 3.-4. Presentation of the first seminary work, presentation of the project intention, project evaluation training made by students; 5. Analysis call of selected operational program; 6. Processing of a project based for the call of the selected operational program - requirements, submission of a seminary work; 7. Factual part of the project plan; 8. Preparation of the budget of the project; 9. Monitoring of selected project - setting of target values of indicators in the processed project; 10. Preparation of the formal requirements of the project; 11.-12. Presentation of individual projects by students; 14. Preparation of monitoring report, evaluation of seminars.

Learning outcomes |
The aim of the course is to acquaint with the principles of regional designing using methodical approaches and principles of the EU and to prepare project proposals corresponding to the approved program documentation. Principles of regional designing according to EU methodological approaches and principles. Preparation and processing of program documents (National Development Plan, Community Support Framework, Regional and Sectoral Operational Programs). Links between projects and program documents. Use of Structural Funds and EU Initiatives. Processing of analytical materials. Formulation of objectives, priorities and measures of projects. Project funding. Processing of financial plans. Methods of project monitoring and their overall evaluation.
The student will be able to elaborate a project including its financial assessment; will learn to negotiate with the relevant institutions, and will be able to vindicate his project. |

The study subject Regional designing is conditioned by the subject Regional Management I.

Assessment methods and criteria |
Written examination
Credit Requirements: Individual study of literature, consultation and elaboration of project work (includes data collection, processing - analysis and synthesis of the problem, final evaluation, graphical and formal adjustment). Examination Requirements: Final written test, defense and presentation of the project. |
