Learning outcomes
The goal of the lecture is to present the basic figures and streams of modern philosophy. The exposition is focused mainly on René Descartes (rationalism), David Hume (empiricism), Immanuel Kant (critical philosophy - synthesis of rationalism s empiricism).
Student have basic knowledge on leading persons of the Modern philosophy. He is able to understand these philosophers and their particular conceptions to the context of the time and philosophical schools.

Oral examination

Philosophers who must be known in detail: René Descartes, David Hume, Immanuel Kant, Friedrich Nietzsche Philosophers who must be known in basic outline: Gottfried W. Leibniz, Baruch Spinoza, Francis Bacon, John Locke, George Berkeley, Georg W. F. Hegel, Johann G. Fichte, Friedrich W. J. Schelling, Soren Kierkegaard
