Course content
Church and State in Relation to the Kingdom of God - Pannenberg https://www.getsemany.cz/node/1860 - Know thoroughly Civil Religion (Skalický/Vokoun "Religion and Politics") Have a basic understanding: French Model (Comte): Replace Christianity with a humanist religion. German Model (Kant): Gradually reframe Christianity into a religion of humanism and morality. American Model: A common intersection of Judaism and Christianity. Medieval European Model: Christianity reduced to what is useful for the state and society. Contemporary Western Model: "European (and other Enlightenment) values." Theology of Development, Revolution, and Liberation (Skalický/Vokoun "Religion and Politics") A superficial overview is sufficient. Learning outcomes
To give the student insight into the relationships between the Church and the world: how they have developed in the past, how they are currently evolving, how they should be shaped according to the Pastoral Constitution Gaudium et Spes of the Second Vatican Council (especially Chapters 3 and 4), and what applications arise from this for the service that church officials and Christians, in general, should provide to the world.
Student will gain knowledge enables him or her to became involved in the service of the Church to the contemporary society.
