Learning outcomes
Deeper insight into the student's chosen area themes of modern Islam. Students will broaden their knowledge of information on the status of Muslims in the Czech Republic. The primary theme of the seminar is the status of Islam as a major element of the encounter of civilizations in the global dimension. Students will get acquainted with current professional literature and information provided by the media on this topic.

In the following lines you will find basic information about the course. If it is necessary to add information or you have any complications with the technical aspect of the course, drop me an email to timely First, I recommend to start thinking about what you choose a topic essay. According to past experience will follow the electronic discussion between student / student and teacher that will lead to the adoption of teachers and its respective valuation. Seminar work is only a partial outcome of the course. The whole course is thematically and time-divided into three parts. At the end of each section of the course must have a student / student met one of the pre-selected tasks / tests. the first part / October: Topic A - Palestinian question; Theme B - democracy and human rights from the perspective of Islam; Theme C - Women in Islam. Student / student selected mission must be handed over to the relevant section of the end of October (31.10. 2017 23:55). the second part / November: A subject - history and present Muslims in the Czech Republic; Theme B - contemporary Islam in Western Europe; Theme C - Shia Islam as the basis of the Iranian state. Student / student selected task must be passed to the relevant section of the end of November (11/30 2017, 23:55) and the version of the test, the same condition. the third part / December: A subject - the Arab Spring; Theme B - modern Turkey; Theme C - Islam as part of interfaith dialogue. Student / student selected task must be passed to the relevant section of the end of December (31.12. 2017, 23:55) and the version of the test, the same condition. How to proceed: All course trainees have access to all the documents that are attached to the nine themes of the course. As a good teacher because I can only recommend to get acquainted in detail with all the documents on individual topics. Besides the seminar work between partial outcomes of the course includes three assignments submitted on time. Student / student beforehand selects one job from the first, second and third portions (e.g. it may be a task associated with the subject A of the first portion, the test associated with the topic C of the second portion and the tasks associated with the subject B of the third part, etc. ). For more information about tasks and documents on topics can be found in the relevant section. Documents on specific topics and a general list of recommended books on the topic of Islam are indicative and certainly it is possible to process the task to elect other relevant sources (scientific literature, articles from professional journals, etc.), Which can be found in the Library Josefa Petra Ondoka TF JU, Academic Library in JU or eg. in the Research Library of South Bohemia in České Budějovice.
