Learning outcomes
|
Seminar informs students about basic topics, literary and thought style of the selected and the most important classical scriptures of Buddhist, Taoist and Confucian philosophy and motivates them for looking for similarities and differencis in the comparision with the intelectual traditions of the West.
Through reading, analysis, explanation and discussion of basic classical texts students meet probably for the first time the different nature of topics, thought and literary style of Asian philosophy and religion scriptures and understand their mutual differencies and similarities. They enrich their view of what is and could be a philosophy.

Essay, Student performance assessment, Systematic student observation
- regular summarizing and thinking out the given text - 85 % attendance and active participation in discussion - final longer written essay on topic of "How Eastern style of thinking could be inspiring for Western culture?"
