Course content |
The central text which will be read for the most part of the semestr will be Plato's Apology of Socrates. We will, however, focus also on selected passages from texts which can help with better understanding of the above mentioned work of Plato.

Learning outcomes |
To read with understanding and to interpret a philosophical text. The seminar (course) has a propaedeutical character, however regular preparation is necessary. Before each meeting, every student must read and reflect the assigned passage of the text, if necessary also using the secondary literature. Selected students will read and interpret the given passage more deeply and they will participate in guiding the reading during seminar.
The student is philosophically informed about the selected texts of ancient philosophy and is able to actively work with them. |

1) active attendence (3 absences is the maximum), 2) guide the interpretation once during the semester, 3) written test (an interpretation of given text). These 3 conditions must be fulfilled during the same semester. |
