1) Straight and commented reading of a scholarly German text. 2) An introduction into scholarly vocabulary. 3) specialities of a scholarly style. 4) Basic techniques of translators.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of this course is to introduce the students to reading of foreign-language scholarly text.
Each student will be able to translate independently an easier scholarly text.

Prerequisites
|
A basic knowledge of German.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Systematic student observation
An active partcipation on lessons - the reading and translating of text, according to linguistic facilities of a discussion. The successful mastering of this course does not depend on a level of the language of students but on an active participation on lessons.
