Course content
1. Historical development of astronomy and astrophysics, historical dates in astronomy and astrophysics, area of research in astronomy and astrophysics 2. Spherical trigonometry and its application in astronomy, spherical astronomy 3. Time, calendar and astronomy 4. Stellar heaven 5. Elementary celestial mechanics 6. Radiation in astrophysics 7. Elementary astrophysical quantities of stars 8. Elementary astrophysics 9. Interstelllar matter 10. Stellar astronomy 11. Galactic and extragalactic astronomy 12. Beginnings and development of the universe, cosmology 13. Solar system 14. Space research, cosmonautic

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)
Learning outcomes
History of astronomy and astrophysics. Elementary phenomena of classical astronomy - astronomical coordinates, aberration, parallax, precession, nutation, apparent movement of bodies in the sky, time and calendar. Basics of celestial mechanics. Solar system. Elementary phenomena of astrophysics - plasma, basic astrophysical units. Origin and development of stars, H-R graph, stars composition. Nebullae. Galactic and extragalactic astronomy. The universe origin and development. Astronomical devices and current astronomical research.
Students should be acquainted with Astronomy and Astrophysics and be capable of solving of tasks in Astronomy ans Astrophysics on this basis.
Prerequisites
For students who have completed the courses of General and Theoretical physics; knowledge of integral and differential calculation required.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

Students will lean basic methods of universe research, optical instruments, spheric astronomy, solar system, stars and their constellations, structure and development of universe.
