Course content
1. Inventions, discoveries and society development. 2. An overview of significant inventions and their destiny. 3. The first and second industrial revolution. 4. Technical branches in 19th century. 5.-14. History of metallurgy, steam energy, hydraulic machines, textile production, combustion engines, transport, machinery, electricity and magnetism.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming)
Learning outcomes
Getting students to know with the development of technical systems. Sudents understand technical systems' influence on civilization since the beginning of the civilization up to current. Students gain a general overview of the key branches of techonology. Students know important inventions and inventors and technical sights.
Orientation in historic development of key disciplines of technics, students understand the relationship technics-society.

Seminar paper, choise of posted topics- 6 pages.
