Course content
1. Electrical engineering definition of the subject content. 2. Fundamentals of circuit theory and some methods of solution. Ohm's Law, Kirchhoff's laws, application. 3. Electrical power and work of DC current. 4. Electrical power AC. Active power, apparent power, reactive power. 5. Electric power transmission, a three phase system. 6. Imittance, phasor diagrams. 7. Passive elements in AC excitation. 8. Circuits RC, RLC and transient effects.. 9. Semiconductor components, function, parameters, applicaction of diode, thyristor, triac. 10. Bipolar transistors, Field effect transistors, properties, distribution, parameters, applications. 11. Basic connection of amplifier stages with transistors coomon base, common emitter, common colector. 12. Electrical energy sources, alternative, renewable. 13. Electrical rotating machines, principles, generators, AC, DC. 14. Electrical rotating machines, principles, engines, AC, AC. 15. Electrical machines, transformers, principles, transfer function, losses, efficiency, construction. 16. Magnetic properties of materials, magnetic materials. 17. Semiconductor materials, production of single crystals. 18. Materials in Electrical Engineering conductors, insulators, construction materials.

Learning outcomes
The subject is a continuence of secondary school physics studies. Getting students to know with areas of electrotechnics. Basic phenomena of electrical circuits, conducting of electrical current in substances, electrical machines, materials and technologies in electrotechnics, semiconductive elements.
Knowledge of basic terms and laws in electrotechnics. Orientation in the basics of technics of alternating current, principles of use of electric machines.

good evaluation of the seminars, attendance acording to the study regulations

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

Students will learn to apply basic theoretical knowledge in solving problems in electrotechnics and they will get a complex overview in electrotechnics.
