1. Introduction, elementary categorization of machines 2. Categorizing of machines according to their application 3. Elementary machine functions and machine parts functions 4. Systematic overview of machine systems 5. Energetic powering machines 6. Energetic working machines 7. Machines and equipment for material transport and manipulation 8. Machines used for liquids transport 9. Machines used for loose materials, partial matters and persons transport 10. Equipment used for technical treatment of environment 11. Construction principals and functions of elementary types of powering and working machines 12. Chosen production machines 13. Standards dealing with machines operations and their safety 14. Operation, maintaining, failure rate, failures of machines

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming)
Learning outcomes
Elementary functions of machines and machine parts. Systematical overview of machine systems. Energetical powering systems, energetical working machines, machines and devices used for materials transport and manipulation, devices used for technical arrangement of a working place.
Student knows construction principles of basic types of engines.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of mechanics.

Student shows in a test his knowledge of construction principles of basic types of engines.
