Course content
1. Introduction, elementary elasticity and hardness 2. Constructions application and technical systems functions applications 3. Elementary types of stresses 4. Hook's law, real and contract stress 5. Allowed stress, dynamics of stress 6. Steiner's formula, cross-sectional module, quadratic moment of inertia 7. Simple pulling 8. Simple pressure 9. Pressure on contact planes, impression checking, pressure tanks 10. Bending 11. Shear 12. Torsion 13. Buckling 14. Equipment dimensioning in accordance to hardness or deformation

Learning outcomes
Elementary science dealing with elasticity and hardness applied at constructions and functions of technical systems. Elementary kinds of tensions. Hook's law. Real and contractual tensions. Allowed tensions, dynamics of tensions, Steiner's formula, cross section module, quadratic moment of inertia. Device dimensioning considering hardness or deformation. Developing individual problems solving abilities.
Students carry out calculations of tension applying strength equations for basic types of stress and compare the allowed stress on material according to operation condition of a device.

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined exam

Students are to prove in test solving problems relating to elasticity, strength and the application on function of technical systems.
