Course content
Elementary mechanisms and their parts. Kinematic mechanisms, their purpose, types, elementary parts, properties, fields of use. Hydraulic mechanisms, division, principles, properties, use. Pneumatic mechanisms, pneumatic propulsion, division, principles, properties, use. Machine parts degradation due to static and dynamic load, material wearing, corrosion, deformation, pits and other damages. Types of loads, strength calculations of machine parts for force transition, mechanical and rotary movement. Designation of machine parts at drawings, assembling machine parts together.

Learning outcomes
Introduction of basic principles of machines and devices to students, causes and ways of damaging machines, strength calculations of machine parts, principles and their use at fitting the machine parts, drawing and designation at technical drawing.
An absolvent will receive overview of basic principles of machine and devices mechanisms, will be able to make dimensions, draw and use machine parts in large machine units and will be able to apply his/her knowledge in specific projects.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of mechanics and technical documentation.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Student portfolio analysis, Seminar work

Basic knowledge of technical materials and their properties, basics of technical communication in terms of technical documentation.
