Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)
  • Preparation for classes - 13 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Students will deepen their knowledge about GIS in the field of digitalisation, mobile mapping, and using of geodatabase. In addition they will learn about pronciples of GPS navigation and about remote sensing.
Mastering of georeferencing, of digitalisation, of application topological rules and of using geodatabase. Correct use of GPS device and basic knowledge of remote sensing.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of software ArcGIS, creation of maps according to rules of thematic cartography, knowledge of basic sources of data for GIS, know-how about getting attributes data from different format into GIS.

Assessment methods and criteria
Test, Seminar work

Map making in software ArcGIS (9.x, 10.x). Working on individual project, in which students prove ability to get new data by mobile mapping or digitalisation.
