Course content
1. Population and Housing Census - history , scientific principles , results2. Life tables , construction, obtained results3. The second demographic transition, the principle and process 4. Changes in demographic, reproductive behavior5. Changes of family behavior ( the family formation and disintegration), informal unions ( cohabitation), "single" households6. Demographic behavior of college students - survey results 7. Changes of age and sex structure of population , methods of processes study 8. The population aging, comparison of Czech and Slovak Republics9. Young urban services ( housing ) , peculiarities of their population processes and structures10. Indigenous, endogenous nations , world overview and example of Japan and Russia11. Special population development in Japan12. Population Atlas of Slovakia, an example of population development interpretation in thestatistical, cartographic and textual form13. Current problems of demographic behavior of the population14. Summary evaluation of lectures

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Demonstration
Learning outcomes
Presentation of more advanced methods and techniques of population processes and structures analysis. Knowing the current changes of the population demographic behavior at the global level, in selected countries and regions of the world and in the Czech and Slovak Republics. Active use of home and foreign literature and statistical sources.
The students´ skills after completing the course are primarily based on the objectives and the content of the subject.

Essay, Student performance assessment, Interview, Seminar work

The processing selected demographic topics in seminar paper form using the recommended literature and other literary tracing and statistical data. Presentation of the topics prepared in the seminar.
