Learning outcomes
This subject includes several reciprocally related geographical sub-disciplines dealing with Settlements, Recreation, Services and Transport, and Agriculture. Students will acquire basics of these sub-disciplines, their theories and methodologies so, that they can consequently use such skills during the lessons of regional geography and resolving practical problems of regional development. Main solving themes - typology of settlements and settlement systems, inner structure of towns and agglomerations, town and its surroundings, public administration and settlement system, development of settlements and settlement structure, urbanization and rural depopulation, contemporaneous world urbanization and its prognosis, parts, types and forms of recreation and tourism, localities, centers and areas of recreation and tourism, types of services for inhabitants, attraction zones of services, territorial system of service centers, development tendencies of services and their territorial distribution, types of transportation, communications, traffic points and nets, capacity, power and efficiency of transportation, transportation and landscape, traffic and settlement system, urban and suburban transportation, development of transport in the landscape and prognosis of that development.

Oral examination, Written examination

The students will work up 3 - 4 seminnar works on engaged topics. To pass the exam the students will study at least 2 monographs and 4 scientific papers on engaged topics.
