Course content
Contents of blocks of lectures and exercises: 1. General and applied ethics. Methodology of ethics. 2. Ethical systems. 3. Conscience. 4. Nature and naturalness. 5. Bioethical principles. Bioethically relevant areas of human practice (human and inhuman life). Man's relationship to nature. 6. Anthropocentric directions. 7. Non-anthropocentric directions. 8. The relationship of man to animals. Comparison of different concepts. 9. Problems of modern technology and biotechnology. 10. Human and animal rights

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)
  • Preparation for credit - 20 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 20 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 25 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 56 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
To show the differences and intersections between general and applied ethics, to explain the importance of general ethics for applied ethics. Introduce bioethics as a subdiscipline of applied ethics, point out the issues of modern technology and biotechnology.
Students understand the basic principles of working on a computer, they are able to solve common user problems in office applications
The subject Informatics has no prerequisites

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined exam

Active participation on lessons and exercises, or participation in seminars. Fulfillment of assigned tasks according to the teacher's instructions.
