Course content
Basics of genetical and economical evaluation of individuals and populations on the basis of utility control and DNA information, monitoring of gene flow in animal populations in time. Genetical and economical optimalization in the process of breeding and hybridization. Marker assisted selection and its contribution in breeding process efficiency. This subject requires the knowledge of genetics, biostatistics and skills in computer technology operating.

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)
  • Preparation for credit - 20 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 20 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 56 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 25 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of this subject is to synthetize knowledge from previous study of genetic disciplines, statistics, computer technology operating, and practical application of new biotechnical and biotechnological methods of breeding process.
The student will be able to apply the acquired knowledge to optimize breeding processes.
Prerequisites
Genetics I - KGV/GEN1, Genetics II - KGV/GEN2, Biostatistics, Databases systems
