Course content
The students get the latest knowledge on genetics. Molecular genetics, biochemical genetics, cytogenetics, basics of genomics esp. structural and functional. Immunogenetics, genetics of reproduction. Population genetics, genetic fundamentals of animal breeding incl. hybridization. Health and resistence, genetic diversity, genetic resources.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Individual tutoring
  • Class attendance - 56 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 60 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 50 hours per semester
  • Preparation for classes - 50 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Specific improvement of knowledge in genetics, population and special genetics of animals to make basics for application in animal breeding. Lectures are complemented by individual tutorials. Finishing of the subject removes disproportions among different previous knowledge of grad students. They get basics for the study of subsequent specialized subjects.
Genetics encompassing the all magnitude from molecular basics to application in breeding.
Prerequisites
Exams of genetics, biochemistry, physiology in magister degree.
