Course content
1.-2. Overview of molecular biological methods, separation techniques. 3.-5. Characteristics and overview of molecular markers, protein, isoenzyme, DNA markers, techniques based on hybridization, PCR with random and specific primers, sequencing. 6.-7. Methods of molecular data analysis. Primer design. Methods of laboratory testing of primers. 8.-9. DNA sequencing. DNA sequence analysis. 10. Statistical analysis of molecular data. 11.-12. Analysis of dominant and codominant markers. 13.-14. Use of molecular markers in genetics, breeding, systematics and population biology.

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with basic types of markers used in the study of income. plant populations. The subject deals with the basic distribution of markers, their description, their practical use, evaluation method and statistical evaluation.
Students are able to orientate in the field of molecular markers and their application in plant genetics and breeding
Prerequisites
Standard knowledge of molecular biology

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined exam

Active participation in exercises, protocols from laboratory exercises, understanding the curriculum defined for the exam.
