Course content
|
Structure and composition of DNA molecule, mechanism of replication, transcription, translation and sequencing of DNA. Nucleic acids and their functions. Gene expression control. Development and its regulation. Mutation. Gene isolation, recombinant DNA, vectors, gene libraries. Methods of molecular genetics and use of results in practice. Molecular genetic diagnosis of diseases, molecular genetic markers and their use in selection.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to deepen the knowledge from the basics of molecular genetics obtained in the compulsory subject Genetics.
Students are able to orientate in the field of cell and molecular biology
