Course content
The student get through 4 weeks of contractual practice focused on laboratory, molecular, microbiological and biotechnological methods in institutions and companies with food, medical and veterinary focus. The main tasks are the individual laboratory and professional activities under the professional guidance, introduction to the organization of the company, its structure, technological and technical equipment. At the end of the practice the students elaborate his / her own assessment of the practice, including a summary of the acquired experience and skills. Student's assessment by the employer will be also included and this evaluation of the practice is the basis for awarding the credit.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Work activities (workshops)
  • Preparation for credit - 10 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 20 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 20 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 56 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the practice is to combine the theoretical knowledge with practical skills in the field of biotechnology. Students will be involved in laboratory work and managerial procedures in laboratories and organizations where the practice takes place.
The student acquires practical skills according to the practice orientation.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of theoretical and scientific subjects as a presumption for practical skills development during compulsory practice.
