Course content
Nucleic acids, their components, nucleozids, nucleotids, chemical structure. DNA and RNA, structure, superhelix, biosynthesis, promotors, terminators. Replication, ORI, Okazaki fragments, DNA polymerases. Transcription unit, transcription, RNA polymerases, posttranscriptional changes. Genetic code. Translation, iniciation, termination. Supresors, ORF. Regulation positive, negative, activation, repression. Regulation posttranscriptional, translational, posttranslantional.

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)
  • Preparation for credit - 50 hours per semester

Learning outcomes
Knowledge of biopolymers, structure, function. Expression, gene regulation. Mutation, transposition.
Basis of molecular biology for subsequent study of gene engineering, biotechnologies etc.
