Course content
Introduction to the discipline, historical survey in the embryotransfer. Artificial insemination and its role in livestock breeding. Technological procedure ET in embryos in vivo after superovulation. Limiting factors for embryotransfer method. Physiological sexual cycle. Rut synchronization. Superovulation and repetitionary superovulation. Embryo preservation by freezing. Embryos produced in vitro. Used micromanipulation with embryos. Embryotransfer. Biotechnology of future. Biotechnology usage in animal breeding. Hazard and ethic aspects of biotechnology development. Differences and use of ET findings in cattle, sheep, goats and pigs.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the current state of knowledge in the field of animal biotechnology of individual species of livestock, the perspective directions of their development with emphasis on reproduction, health, nutrition with use especially in breeding and cattle farming practice.
Students have an overview of animal biotechnology focused on breeding and breeding practice.
