Course content
1. Introduction into terminology and brief history of ethnomusicology 2. Traditional music of Bohemia and Moravia 3. West European and South European regions (Spain, Italy, Corsica) 4. East European regions (Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Russia) 5. Countries of Balkan Peninsula 6. Georgia and Armenia 7. Traditional Gipsy and Jewish music 8. Arabic cultural sphere (theory of Arabic music, basic conception, musical instruments) 9. Arabic cultural sphere (sacred and classical music) 10. Arabic cultural sphere (folk music, local musical expressions, musical expressions of Near East and North African regions) 11. Indian cultural sphere (theory of Indian music, basic conceptions, musical instruments) 12. Indian cultural sphere (sacred and classical music) 13. Indian cultural sphere (musical expressions of northern and southern cultural areas) 14. Final seminar

Basic terminology and short overview of the history of ethnomusicology traditional music of European regions (including Romany music and Jewish music), Arabian traditional music (theory, spiritual music, classic music, folk music), Indian traditional music (theory, spiritual music, music of northern and southern region)
