Course content
Students work under teacher supervision: 1- Analysis of different forms of small sentence 2- Analysis of small two and three part forms 3- Small forms in instrumental baroque music, classicism and romanticism 4- Analysis of great two and three part forms 5- Analysis of smaller rondo forms 6- Sonata form in narrow sense 7- Analysis of classical sonata sentence 8- Rondo of higher sonata types 9- Cyclic sonata form in solo literature 10- Cyclic sonata form in orchestral literature 11- Other cyclic forms 12- Variation 13- Counterpoint forms 14- Credit test

Work with text (with textbook, with book)
Learning outcomes
This module introduces students to the practical and theoretical principles on which musical compositions are constructed. Students´ independent experience with simple forms will be required. The course is conceived as a foundation for further study in the field.
Orientation in score and in auditory analysis of composition at the side of music form and harmonious plan. Focus on elementary forms.
Prerequisites
The finished subject HFZ2

Assessment methods and criteria
Analysis of creative work (musical, visual, literary)

Theoretical knowledge of music forms and ability of music and auditory analysis of lower forms.
