Course content
Workshop 1 - General foundations of methodology od science. Workshop 2 - Information sources exploation (bibliographic citation, bibliographic databases, advanced search, CD-ROM servers, the Web of Science, impact factor) Workshop 3 - Information management (advanced completing of multimedia materials - digital photography, audio- and video materials, basic methods of data evaluation). Workshop 4 - Information presentation (written presentation - the structure of a scientific publi-cation, summary writing, data presentation, oral presentation - the Power Point, defening the thesis)

Learning outcomes
The course covers the fundamental methodological features of scientific work. Further, it is targeted at practical utilization of information technologies with an emphasis on the scientific work, doctoral thesis creation and its defense (presentation).
The student understands the fundamental methodological features of scientific work. He/she performs practical skills in the area of practical information management: citation norm, databases, advanced management of graphical, audio- and video-materials, preparation of scientific texts, basic methods of data evaluation and their presentation, principles of oral presentation.
Prerequisites
Basic IT skills.

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined exam

Completing cca 8 partial projects in an e-learning environment. Final presentation.
