Course content
|
Dendrology characteristics and its content. Morphology and anatomical characteristics of woods. Physiology of woods and their life cycle. Vegetation zoning, altitudinal vegetation zone. Wood vegetation development in middle Europe in quaternary. Woods introduction and acclimatization - purposes and possibilities. Taxonomy of main evergreens and leafy woods and their occurrence in Czech republic territory. Woods use in forestry, landscape adjustment and by green settlement in urban areas. Orcharding and landscape evaluation of woods, inventory and classification of woods on site.

Learning outcomes
|
Subject aim is to introduce the basic knowledge of scientific subject dendrology and to give the knowledge for particular species which are common in our territory of the Czech republic determination.
The student will be oriented in terms of planting and maintenance of trees and plants in cities.

Prerequisites
|
Knowledge of basic species of tree species in the Czech Republic, knowledge of tree morphology.
