Course content
|
1. Objectives of operational management, classification of operations based on key environmental factors, analysis of operations. 2. Production system and its function. The basic scheme of the production system. Operational management as a transformation process. 3. Types of production and production strategy. Organization of the operational process, operations design goals, process organization, production and service organization. 4. Product system and productivity measurement, design and measurement of work, design goals, approaches to design work, role of automation. 5. Normative base of the enterprise. Types of standards, methods of determining time standards. Productivity in manufacturing organizations and service organizations. 6. Rationalization of working methods. Enterprise-based resource planning systems, optimized manufacturing technology 7. Division of labor, new ways of organizing work. Workplaces and working conditions. Workplace placement. 8. Scheduling of batch and flow processes, gross capacity planning, material requirements planning 9. Production resource planning, enterprise-wide resource planning systems, relationship between purchase and operations, purchasing responsibilities, purchasing process and mix. 10. Operational management of production processes. 11. Organization of auxiliary and service processes. 12. Project planning and control, essence of project management, stages in project planning and control, project management techniques. 13. Process management with focus on efficiency and effectiveness of production processes. 14. Quality management, measurement and performance improvement.

Learning outcomes
|
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to provide students with basic knowledge of operational management with focus on planning, management and control of processes and inventory management. He will be acquainted with the development of standards and standards. Learning outcomes of the course unit The student will learn the essence of operational processes in manufacturing enterprises and organizations and will acquire methods of planning, control and control of these processes.
Ability to develop a project using standards.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Seminar work
Credit Requirements: Elaboration of an individual seminar paper of at least eight A4 pages. Knowledge demonstration of lectured subject through the test, total score to meet the limit - at least 15 correct answers out of 30 questions asked. Exam requirements: During the exam students will demonstrate their ability to apply the knowledge of the subject by solving concrete practical problems. The total score is based on the results of the credit test and the oral examination.
