Course content
1. Basic ecological concepts, landscape, landscape structure, European landscape archetypes, 2. Evolution of the landscape of the Czech Republic, landscape types, landscape use, landscape character, evaluation of landscape significance 3. Biogeography, vegetation stages, trophic series, hydric series, edaphic categories 4. Landscape planning, Territorial system of ecological stability, protection of territories and species at national level, protection of territories and species at international level

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Work with text (with textbook, with book), E-learning, Individual preparation for exam, Work with multi-media resources (texts, internet, IT technologies)
  • Preparation for classes - 80 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 16 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 48 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Basic orientation in questions of environmental protection and landscape in particular parts in sequence to European society legality (air, water, soil, vegetation, fauna) and basics of systematic landscape creation (creation of territorial systems of ecological stability, revitalization)
Studen will be able to orientate in Czech legislation and international conventions on nature and landscape protection. It will acquire basic knowledge about the design of the ECONET.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of geography and natural conditions of the Czech Republic.

Written examination, Seminar work

Credit requirements: Submission of seminar work Examination requirements: Written test (60 % success rate)
