Course content
Landscape development in last 12 000 years, human activities. Environment, nature and landscape protection, landscape character, water protection, forest, soil, air, TSES, general, plan, project TSES, international obligations in landscape protection field. Energy in natural conditions. Legality. Environmental factors, their operation, and limit influences. Development of landscape usage and human settlement, the impact of intervention into landscape. Decrease of natural resources, possibilities of biological production loss decreasing, possibilities of fight against wasting. Questions of landscape creation in light of agriculture and forestry, industry and urbanism. Ecological network in landscape, terrestrial systems of ecological stability, European ecological network EECONET. Plants and animals genofond protection and territorial nature protection. Management and legal rules in environmental protection.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Work with text (with textbook, with book)
  • Preparation for classes - 80 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 12 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 48 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Basic orientation in questions of environmental protection and landscape in particular parts in sequence to European society legality (air, water, soil, vegetation, fauna) and basics of systematic landscape creation (creation of territorial systems of ecological stability, revitalization)
Studen will be able to orientate in Czech legislation and international conventions on nature and landscape protection. It will acquire basic knowledge about the design of the ECONET.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of geography and natural conditions of the Czech Republic.

Written examination, Analysis of student's language skills, Seminar work
