Course content
Lecture: 1. Basic concepts relating to urban planning 2. History of urban planning 3. Objectives and tasks of urban planning 4. The limits and regulations of urban planning 5. The authorities dealing with urban plannig 6. Urban planning materials - local analytical materials and regional studies 7. Policy of spatial development 8. Urban planning documentation - development principles 9. Urban planning documentation - urban plan, regulatory plan 10. Spatial planning decision 11. Territorial agreement and territorial measures 12. Law on Expropriation - conditions, purpose and compensation for expropriation

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Individual preparation for exam
  • Class attendance - 9 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 48 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 30 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim is to deepen the knowledge of landscape and urban planning. The aim is to familiarize students with the methods, procedures and legislative framework for urban planning in the country. Students will gain an overview of contemporary trends in urban planning in European and global context. On the practical examples there will be explained the procedures for processing the various stages of urban planning materials and urban planning documentation.
Students are able to analyze urban planning documentation after completing the course and also to collect and generate background material for planning of towns.

Basic knowledge of geography, history and GIS
