Course content |
Lecture: 1. Introduction to the basic concepts of water management and the basics of hydrology 2. Calculation of the ecological stability of the area, description of the landscape, process of creation of territorial systems of ecological stability 3. Description of soil degradation, water erosion calculation procedure 4. Description of watercourses, waterways network forming 5. The historical modifications of watercourses in the Czech Republic and their consequences 6. The process of watercourses revitalization 7. Objects used during the revitalization of watercourses 8. History of the creation of small water reservoirs 9. Formation of small water reservoirs 10. Technical elements of small water reservoirs 11. The process of revitalization and maintenance of small water reservoirs 12. Revitalization of the greenery in the landscape 13. Revitalization of wetlands, peat bogs and riparian forests 14. The content and requirements of revitalization studies Practice: 1. Introduction to study literature and conditions for passing the subject 2. Objectives of the literature review and explanation of the principle processing 3. Creation of hydrological boundaries of small catchments 4. Principles of formation of territorial systems of ecological stability 5. Calculating of the rate of water erosion risk in the selected area 6. Description and objectives of seminary work on revitalization study 7. Introducing of QBR method 8. Processing of data about flood discharges 9. Processing of overrun curves 10. Learning outcomes |
The aim of the subject is to introduce the basic informations about landscape development and human activities which lead to its adjusting to the natural conditions.
Upon completion of the course the students will be able to prepare a study of revitalization of landscapes and watercourse, including all necessary hydrotechnical calculations. Students can evaluate the landscape revitalization projects. |
