Course content
Lectures: 1 - Basic terminology, subject definition, history, methodology. 2 - Personality and work. 3 - Work and conditions. 4 - Work and organization, people in the organization. 5 - Manager's personality. 6 - Interaction and communication in an organization. 7 - Influencing in the working process. 8 - Psychology and sociology in business. 9 - Trader's personality. 10 - Corporate culture, identity and ethics. 11 - Concept and system of working with people in the enterprise. 12 - Organizational change. 13 - Loss of employment. Exercises: 1 - Self-knowledge of psychological characteristics based on psychological methods. 2 - Self-knowledge of interpersonal characteristics based on psychological methods. 3 - Self-recognition of the motivational profile based on psychological methods. 4 - Training in recognition of manipulative communication. 5 - Training in the skills of sound self-promotion through verbal communication. 6 - Training in the skills of sound self-promotion through non-verbal communication. 7 - Training of interpersonal skills in business activities. 8 - Training in dealing with conflicting and non-mature clients. 9 - Training in self-presentation. 10 - Training in conducting sales talks. 11 - Moderation training. 12 - Presentation of excellent individual works by students. 13 - Presentation of excellent individual works by students.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)

Learning outcomes
The aim is to provide students with a sociological and psychological perspective of economic activities. To offer basic sociological and psychological information to prospective managers, dealers and specialists, especially about management and business activities. To equip them with information and skills that they can build on and further develop in the specific conditions of their practice.
Knowledge on basic psychological phenomena, ways and approaches to understanding of human psyche, knowledge of person involved in social relations and institutions, knowledge on social processes and social structure.
Prerequisites
Course of Sociology and Psychology is conditioned by the course of Statistics (STAT). It follows the course of Fundamentals of Social Sciences and especially the course of Fundamentals of Psychology and Sociology for Secondary Schools.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

Credit Requirements: Elaboration of an individual seminar paper of at least eight A4 pages. Knowledge demonstration of lectured subject through the test, total score to meet the limit - at least 15 correct answers out of 30 questions asked. Exam requirements: During the exam students will demonstrate their ability to apply the knowledge of the subject by solving concrete practical problems. The total score is based on the results of the credit test and the oral examination.
