Course content
Lecture: 1. Basic concepts relating to urban planning 2. History of urban planning 3. Objectives and tasks of urban planning 4. The limits and regulations of urban planning 5. The authorities dealing with urban plannig 6. Urban planning materials - local analytical materials and regional studies 7. Policy of spatial development 8. Urban planning documentation - development principles 9. Urban planning documentation - urban plan 10. Urban planning documentation - regulatory plan 11. Spatial planning decision 12. Territorial agreement and territorial measures 13. Decree related to urban planning and building regulations 14. Law on Expropriation - conditions, purpose and compensation for expropriation Practice: 1. Introduction to study literature and conditions for passing the subject 2. Urban planning portal 3. Processing of individual work on search within the portal of urban planning 4. Description of the landscape character 5. Individual work on landscape character description in the selected area 6. SWOT analysis 7. Processing individual SWOT analysis of the selected village 8. Introduction to the essentials of planning documents 9. Description and objectives of seminary work of regional studies for the selected site 10. Initiation into different types of urban planning documents and Policy of spatial development 11. Processing of individual work on search within the urban plan 12. Processing of individual tasks to create regional studies for the selected community 13. Presentation of regional studies 14. Learning outcomes
Aim of this subject is to deepen the knowledge from landscape and urban planning. The subject defines urban planning basics, describes the process of purchasing and confirmation of urban planning documentation.
Students are able to analyze urban planning documentation after completing the course and also to collect and generate background material for planning of towns.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of geography, history and GIS

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination, Student portfolio analysis, Seminar work, Self-reflection

Credit requirements: Participation in the exercises, processing of protocols from excercises, submission and presentation of seminar work Examination Requirements: Written test (60 % success rate)
