Course content
Principles of forestry, economic methods and shapes, afforestation of clearings, care of cultures and growths. Education of forest stands, first interventions in growths and cultures, pruning, testing, restoration of forest stands. Forest protection, responsibilities of the forest owner in providing conservation measures, harmful human activity, biotic and abiotic damage. Forest management, dendrometric terminology, forest growth conditions. Forest management plans, outlines, spatial division of the forest, management book, forest maps. Forestry, use of wood and its characteristics, mining techniques and technologies. Act No. 289/95 Coll. on forests and implementing regulations. Other functions of the forest, categories, forest as a habitat of animals, duties and rights of the owner. It includes seminar work and presentation of collections of natural products.

Learning outcomes
Students will learn the most important role of a forest and the major principles of forest management. The main stress is focused on the use of farm forests and the traditional connection of agriculture and forest production. They will learn the basic concerns of forest management and the possibilities of rational connection with agriculture.
The student will acquire the basic duties of the forest owner, will be able to use the forest management plan and will manage the basic activities related to forest management.

Oral examination, Seminar work

Students submit collections: 1. Forest tree branches in winter with pressed leaves - 15 items 2. Inferior pests on conifers and foliage - 7 items 3. Fetus of selected wood-fruit fungi - 7 items Within the framework of the TC, they perform practical tasks, which they will prepare for a seminar work of up to 30 pages. 1. Inventory of seedlings in kindergarten 2. Checking the need to improve the culture 3. Evaluate the provision of culture
