Course content
Lectures and exercises 1. Economic thinking: schools, history and important personalities 2. Perfect and imperfect competition 3. Market: supply and demand 4. Fiscal and monetary policy 5. Selected terms: GDP, inflation and unemployment 6. Enterprise and its surroundings (incl. Breakdown); Start-up 7. Founding budget; Property; Valuation 8. Capital; Balance sheet; Profit 9. Cash Flow 10. Inventory management, production and investment 11. Tax system in the Czech Republic 12. Selected tax chapters and their requirements 13. Types of accounting (cost, managerial, financial and environmental accounting) 14. Managerial accounting (selected chapters)

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Demonstration

Learning outcomes
Students will get the basics of "economic literacy" in the form of monological lectures, which will be thematically divided into three blocks: I. microeconomic and macroeconomic aspects at the bachelor's degree level, II. introduction to business economics and III. an overview of the tax system in the Czech Republic and the basics of accounting - at the managerial level.
Students understand basic economic terms, relationships and phenomena, can make economic decisions and think.
Prerequisites
Basic high school economic literacy.

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined exam

Credit requirements: active participation in seminars (max. 2 absences), elaboration of a short presentation on a given topic Exam requirements: written test (multiple-choice type, min. Success rate: 60%)
