Course content

1. Basic concepts and context of business. 2. Business Types and Objectives, Social Importance and Responsibility. 3. Businessman, his characteristics, the prerequisites of a successful entrepreneur. 4. Enterprise, its definition, types of business by size and ownership, life cycle of the enterprise. 5. Business Process, Business Opportunities and Possibilities of Generating Business Plan. 6. Legal requirements and obligations of a start-up entrepreneur. 7. Self-employed persons, types of trades according to the Trades Licensing Act. 8. The division of business corporations and the basic principles of their activities. 9. Trading companies, personal, capital, European and European economic interest groups. 10. Cooperative and entrepreneurial non-profit organizations. 11. Entities providing services to entrepreneurs, science and technology parks, business incubators. 12. Support for entrepreneurship in the European Union and the Czech Republic in the current planning period. 13. Management of small and medium-sized enterprises. 14. Specifics of business in agrifood sector.

Learning outcomes
|
Graduates will learn about aspects of business success, business management, and business planning. Part of the course is also the creation of a business plan with the possibility of consulting with a practitioner. Practical examples and the involvement of experienced entrepreneurs in the classroom will be brought closer to successful business start-up procedures. A significant part of the teaching is devoted to the issue of financial resources, including the possibility of using available business support and business support institutions.
The student should be able to create a business project at his / her discretion and advocate it through a professional committee of external experts.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Test, Seminar work
Credit requirements: active participation in seminars (max. 2 absences), preparation and presentation of a business plan before the commission. Examination requirements: Written test (minimum: 75%).
