Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)
  • Preparation for classes - 50 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 23 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 55 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 12 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce microorganisms to students so that they will understand their morphology, their biology on the molecular and cell level, and their importance for other organisms and whole ecosystems. The course focuses mainly on microorganisms important in the plant and animal production.
Students will acquire general knowledge of microbiology - overview of microorganisms, historicals aspects, relationships between microorganisms, treatment of infections etc.
Prerequisites
fundamental knowledge of biology, genetics, chemistry
