Course content
- Probability space and its properties. Multiplication of probabilities. Independent and incompatible phenomena. - Conditional probability and its application in practical tasks. - Random variable, mean, variance. Distribution functions. - Discrete random variables. Examples of discrete random variables. - Absolutely continuous random variables. Examples of continuous random variables. - Characteristics of random variables. The law of large numbers. Central limit theorem. - Statistical file. Random choose. - Data types (nominal, ordinal, metric). Frequency distribution and their representation. - Descriptive statistics (characteristics of position and variability, quartiles, skewness and sharpness coefficient). - Estimates of normal distribution parameters. - General principles of hypothesis testing. Critical values, p-value. - Parametric tests (one-sample t-test, paired t-test, two-sample t-test, two-variance agreement, ANOVA). - Nonparametric tests (Wilcoxon tests, sign test, Kruska - Wallis test, Friedman test). - Correlation analysis. Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint the participant with the basics of probability theory and the basics of mathematical statistics.
The course participant will be familiar with the basics of probability theory and mathematical statistics, will be able to evaluate the data obtained by their research.
