Course content
1. Ancient Egyptian mathematics. 2. Babylonian mathematics, numeration . 3. Ancient Greek: Thales of Miletus. 4. Zeno of Elea, Zeno's paradoxes. 5. Pythagoras (mystery of numbers, music, figural numbers). 6. The first crisis of mathematics, famous problems . 7. Alexandria: Eratosthenes, 8. Euclid: Elementa. 9. Archimedes, Apollonius of Perga. 10. Arabic mathematics (al-Khwarizmi, Omar Khayyam). 11. Medieval Europe mathematics in the: Fibonacci, Nicole Oresme. 12. 17th century - Keppler. 13. Fermat, Descartes, Pascal. 14. The origin and development of the graph theory.

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming)
Learning outcomes
The course aim is to acquaint with the important moments of the historical development of mathematics as an integral part of scientific, philosophical and cultural development of mankind.
Exploitation knowledges of the historical mathematics evolution in application. For example in teaching process for bigger motivation and cultivation of mathematical thinkink of the pupils.
Prerequisites
Secondary school mathematics.

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined exam

Knowledge of historical development of mathematics thinking in the range of lessons and knowledge of the selected mathematics methods.
