Course content
The seminar provides a platform for compulsory presentations by students of bachelor and master degrees, where they have the opportunity to present partial results of their experimental work or a more general overview of the issue. Feedback is provided by members of the department or other guests. The seminars include a discussion of the issues presented.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Graphic and art activities, Work with multi-media resources (texts, internet, IT technologies), Group work
  • Preparation for classes - 20 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 20 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 10 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The objective of this seminar is to provide students with sufficient space for training in giving short lectures concerning either their own results or more general science topics. The experience of students gained in these seminars will be useful in lecturing in symposia and conferences. In parallel, students will have the opportunity to hear lectures given by experienced lecturers.
We aim to improve presenting skills of undergraduate students. During the evaluation, we focus on main all the aspects of their presentations.
Prerequisites
The seminar introduces the students to the art of Scientific presentation. Students are not required to have some specific abilities/knowledge prior to enrolling.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance assessment, Analysis of student's language skills

The basic prerequisite for the award of credit is active participation in the seminar, i.e. the actual presentation. Each presentation is subject to constructive evaluation by both the other presenting students and the 'senior' members of the department
