Course content
|
The subject of all seminars is research in any field of experimental biology with emphasis on molecular, cell and developmental biology topics. Please see KMB PrF webpages or Facebook for lecture schedule of a given semester.

Learning outcomes
|
The course Seminars in Molecular Biology mainly consists of lectures by invited speakers, often from abroad. Some seminars are dedicated to mandatory presentations of students in the doctoral program of Molecular and Cell Biology. All seminars are held in English in the conference room of the Institute of Parasitology.
Students will learn to be conversant in scientific english. Students will be exposed to many cutting edge topics in Biological Science and observe how presentations are made by professional scientists. Also, students will have a chance to directly speak to lectures after the seminars for a coffee session lasting 30 minutes.

|
Passive English. Active English helpful for active participation in discussion.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Seminar work
The student actively participates in lectures, 3 excused absences are allowed. At the end of the semester, students will submit a term paper in the form of an abstract, presenting the content of the lecture that most interested them. In addition, after discussion with their classmates, students have the opportunity to invite a lecturer of their choice to present their research work.
